Pharmacology - Sr. Scientist / Group Leader
Description
As part of a talented and multi-disciplinary team advancing an exciting new approach to oncology drug discovery and development, the successful candidate will lead internal efforts to evaluate preclinical therapeutic candidates for efficacy and safety. Specifically, the successful candidate will interact with both discovery and development teams in contributing to pre-IND efforts by leading the design and analysis of in vivo studies to support the development plan. The candidate will also have the opportunity to contribute to biomarker discovery and other aspects of IND-enabling preclinical development. The ability to work independently, while effectively interacting and communicating with other Team members and senior management is also prerequisite.

Assay Development - Research Associate / Sr. Research Associate
Description
As part of a talented and multi-disciplinary team advancing an exciting new approach to drug discovery and development, the successful applicant will be involved in designing, executing and analyzing experiments to evaluate the diagnostic and therapeutic potential of drug candidates. The position requires excellent laboratory skills, critical thinking and attention to detail.
Activities / Responsibilities:
1. Experience developing and characterizing cell-based and ELISA assays
2. Ability to isolate RNA and perform RT-PCR and qPCR assays
3. Experience with multicolor flow cytometry desirable
4. Experience with Western blotting and/ or IHC desirable
5. Knowledge of tumor biology and/ or stem cell biology desirable
Requirements:
1. Bachelors degree in a scientific discipline with a minimum of 3 years experience or,
2. Masters degree in a scientific discipline
3. Strong attention to detail and accuracy

In Vivo Biology - Research Associate
Description
As part of a talented and multi-disciplinary team advancing an exciting new approach to drug discovery and development, the successful candidate will help develop and maintain a small breeding colony, perform in vivo experiments, tumor measurements, organize data and analyze results with minimal supervision. The successful candidate will also be expected to perform weekly mouse injections as needed and perform other duties as assigned. The position may involve assisting with husbandry duties and/or other areas of research on occasion.
Requirements:
1. Minimum 2-5 years of directly related experience, including breeding and maintaining a mouse colony. AALAS certification is preferred but not required
2. Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
3. Organized and disciplined about record keeping, with proficiency in Microsoft Office
4. Able to perform occasional physical labor involving lifting weight up to 50 pounds
5. Willing to split weekend and holiday hours with co-workers on a rotational basis
6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills

In Vivo Biology - Animal Husbandry Technician
Description
As part of a talented and multi-disciplinary team advancing an exciting new approach to drug discovery and development, the successful candidate will a) perform day to day animal care and vivarium maintenance in compliance with Stem CentRx internal SOP’s and guidelines, along with the state and federal animal welfare standards; b) follow IACUC and approved study protocols; c) perform experiments, organize data and analyze results with minimal supervision; d) perform and document daily animal health observations and communicate issues to vivarium supervisors; e) perform husbandry duties, including prepping of sterile cages, cage change outs, receiving and inspecting incoming animals, providing support for the sentinel health program, cleaning of animal room(s), and recording animal room environments; f) perform daily cage census and related documentation; and g) perform general housekeeping and other duties as assigned. This position may also involve assisting in other areas of research.
Requirements:
1. Minimum 2-5 years of directly related experience including basic mouse handling techniques. AALAS certification is preferred but not required

Molecular Biology - Sr. Research Associate
Description
As part of a talented and multi-disciplinary team advancing an exciting new approach to drug discovery and development, the successful candidate will support Molecular Biology efforts. In this role he/she will: a) assist in the development of research plans to identify and validate new targets for therapeutic development, in addition to implementing and executing such experiments; b) help identify and validate markers of diagnostic value; and c) analyze data and communicate results in both oral and written form. Must have a strong desire to work in a dynamic team environment and aggressively contribute to the company’s growth and mission.
Requirements:
1. BS/BA-level with 5+ years of experience, or MS-level with 2+ years of experience, with preference given to industry experience.
2. Experienced in PCR and RT-PCR based techniques including: cDNA synthesis; standard, SyBR and qPCR assay design and execution; TA cloning of PCR products; and PCR-based directed mutagenesis.
3. Proficient in molecular cloning strategies, expression vector design, detection and validation of RNA expression, RNA and gDNA purification, detection and validation of protein expression using immunobloting and/or ELISA
4. Experience with mammalian cell culture required.
5. Experience with flow cytometry strongly preferred, but not required.
6. Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
7. Motivated, organized and disciplined record keeping
